Setup: An Explanation to Prevent Confusion

of Me)
The stakes (for the characters that is): Love. Their lives. The future of the Planet. What do you do when torn between love and duty? What do you do when your betrayal sends the one you love into the arms of evil? What’s a girl to do when the entire world is at stake and it’s all her fault?
Who: Starring Aeris and Sephiroth. Most other cannon characters will be appearing as well. There will likely be Vincent/Tifa material and other pairings could possibly pop up. Some minor original characters will be introduced.
What: (LS: How exactly does “what” fit into this? I don’t think it does…) Um…it’s an R rated romance. There will be descriptive sexual content. There will be violence. It’ll be a darker fic than most AeriSeph’s that exist.
Where: Same setting as the original game. Physically anyways.
When: Rather AU-ish. The basic premise is that instead of trying to destroy the world, Sephiroth overthrows Shinra and takes control that way. That means that Shinra has been disbanded/killed. Many Shinra-affiliated characters are still alive however. Namely the Turks and Reeve. Jenova currently plays a very minor, rather non-influential role at the moment. But of course, I could never completely leave her out and she will definitely play a major role later on.
Why: I like AeriSeph, and I wanted to try something different. One of the reasons that “Dream of Me” is, shall we say, more mature, is because I wanted a chance to explore situations that I couldn’t in “The Paths We Walk” because of its original character. ^_^ It’s true. If “Paths” followed the same line as “Dream,” I’d probably get a lot of complaints.
But more importantly, with the increasing number of fics available nowadays, new ones simply need to have original content to be interesting. So, enough of the “guilt-ridden, I’ll do anything to repent, and I’m really quite a likeable person when not listening to the voices in my head” Sephiroth for now. (If you want that, you could always read “The Paths We Walk *hint hint, nudge nudge*) Let’s instead begin an epic journey in which our beloved characters have to cross Hell and back before developing squishy feeling for each other.
